Approach: Individual or in pairs
What we study:
In this course, children construct and program self-contained robots, create research projects, discover animal life, learn new technologies, explore space. During this course for beginners, children learn the basics of mechanics, mathematics, and programming. The main learning principle of this course is “what if…”: children try things out, test their theories, and are not afraid to make mistakes.
What do we achieve:
Young researchers will be able to combine details to create different mechanisms, program in the LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 environment, work in a team, get along with a partner, and solve sophisticated tasks while working on a project. Children will learn how to use such terms as: robot, sensor, computer game, manipulator, virtual reality, infrared radiation, wireless connection; mechanisms (crank, gear transmission, gearbox, gear train, belt mechanism, worm transmission).
Important Covid-19 Information:
With the current COVID pandemic, we will do everything possible to provide a safe and healthy environment for all students and teachers. Our measures will include: Cleaning and sanitizing regularly, minimization of traffic (only 8 children per class), frequent washing and sanitizing of hands, wearing of face masks where necessary and as per the guidelines set by the CNESST and the Quebec Government. We will comply with all protocols put forward.
